We all know the old adage, money can’t buy you happiness however there’s no denying the fact that money does make life easier. And of course, it goes without saying an easier life makes for a happier life, right? So today I’m going to share 5 simple tips in which you can save money and help make your life easier.
First things first is to consider your debt – If you’re not in the position to clear all your debts now, consider moving the debt to an interest free credit card. This will give you time to clear the debt and help ease the pressure.
Second thing that can make your life a little easier is to go through your memberships that have you paying out direct debits on a monthly or annual basis. Have a gym membership from 2010 that you haven’t used in the last two years or so and yet still paying membership for it? Ditch it! That Spotify membership you could really do without? Cancel it! You’ll free up some extra money for yourself every month!
My third tip is to – SELL! SELL! SELL! The vast number of apps such as ebay or even instagram that are available now for selling, anyone would be spoilt for choice! Go through your closets, your attic, spare room, heck even under your bed! See what you don’t need and stop hoarding it. You’ll be amazed the amount of money you can make from selling these items!
My fourth tip is the 50/30/20 budgeting rule. I think this one rule everyone needs to get behind, basically means 50% of your income is allocated to needs, for example your bills & groceries (we buy most of our groceries from Aldi and then go to the other supermarkets for things we can't find there, we have found that this has really cut down on our weekly grocery budget); 30% of your income goes towards your wants, for example shopping or dining out and last but not the least, 20% on savings or repaying your debts!
My last tip is only if the first 4 doesn’t ease the burden then consider a short-term loan. If you’re really strapped for cash, a short-term loan can help out in the interim. You can find the right loan for you with CashLady who act as a broker on your behalf. Applying for a loan through CashLady means your application will be seen by more lenders, which means you benefit from a higher acceptance rate than applying direct.
